GlassGuard® has joined forces with the British Retail Consortium to offer its certificated suppliers a range of GlassGuard BlackBand® industry compliant fragment retention lamps.

Sourcing better solutions for energy saving and plant safety should always be a top priority, but this area of many businesses is often pushed aside for daily demands. The BRC through a partnership with GlassGuard® can now offer certified suppliers a core selection of products and services to help make these decisions simple.

Lamp safety is more important than you would think and IEC 61549 (BS EN 61549) Fragment Retention Fluorescent Lamp Standard is now in effect, so make sure your business is prepared.

BRC Training

GlassGuard® has produced a training module titled: “An Introduction to Fragment Retention Fluorescent Lamps”

This training module has been accredited by the Construction CPD Certification Service. The CPD Certification Service is an independent body operating across all professional institutions, bodies and societies. Its certified CPD ‘quality mark’ is a recognised symbol of quality assured training.

The training module is aimed at BRC Certified suppliers, in particular Engineering Managers, Technical Managers or any other professionals who have an involvement with or is interested in lighting.

The module introduces Fragment Retention Lamps and IEC 61549 (BS EN 61549) Fragment Retention Lamp Standard. It provides an application guideline to businesses and organisations in where to use Fragment Retention Lamps and highlights the dangers and cost implications of using non-compliant products.

It is important for BRC Certified suppliers to be aware of fragment retention lamps and its applications. The use of fragment retention lamps in areas such as food production and packaging is crucial as the risk of glass contamination and injury from accidental lamp breakage is very high.

This training module reinforces our commitment to the industry. It provides BRC Certified suppliers with valuable information which will enable them to take the right steps to avoid the risk of glass contamination from accidental lamp breakage.
