GlassGuard BlackBand® coated lamps to IEC 61549 (BS EN 61549) offers a solution for businesses wishing to eliminate the risk of glass contamination.

A simple mishandling accident can result in thousands of glass particles being spread over a wide area causing potential contamination and even injury. GlassGuard BlackBand® fragment retention lamps eliminate this risk. They provide protection during and after installation, removal and disposal.

All GlassGuard BlackBand® coated lamps meet the requirements of the British Retail Consortium (BRC), International Food Standard (IFS) and all other hygiene and safety audits within the agricultural, food processing, packaging and pharmaceutical industries. The GlassGuard BlackBand® range of fluorescent lamps will provide 20,000 hours of protection, far exceeding the minimum requirement for IEC 61549 (BS EN 61549) Fragment Retention Lamp Standard.

The special tough GlassGuard® fluoropolymer coating has a maximum continuous service temperature of 200°C while retaining its mechanical properties throughout the life of the lamp. This ensures glass retention at end of lamp life which is crucial.

All GlassGuard BlackBand® coated lamps will comfortably operate in IP65 fixtures due to their excellent performance at high temperatures.
